La Quinta, California, is twenty-five miles from Palm Springs. The city was incorporated in 1982, and it is next to Indio, Indian Wells, and Thermal. The beautiful Santa Rosa Mountains surround the town, and it has a total area of 35.6 square miles.

Events

Tennis fans will love living in La Quinta with an international tennis tournament next door in Indian Wells. The BNP Paribas Open is an international tennis tournament that people come from around the world to see. The tennis tournament is one of the major stops on the ATP tour. For golfers, The Desert Classic tournament takes place in La Quinta, and it is one of the stops on the PGA Tour. At the Desert Classic, you will see greats like Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods.

 

Palm Springs also has an international film festival in January, a film noir festival, and an American documentary film festival. If that all wasn’t enough, there are Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals that take place in Indio at the Empire Polo Fields! There are some areas in La Quinta where you can walk to different music festivals all year long.
